Church Seeks Help for Woman Paralyzed in Buckhead Bar Assault

The church of a woman now paralyzed after being assaulted in a Buckhead bar is seeking help in paying her medical bills.

Friends and family of 38-year-old Consuela Pippins will hold a fundraiser for her on Sept. 19 at Faith, Hope and Deliverance Temple, 759 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. NW, at 10 a.m.  All funds raised will go to Pippins' medical bills and construction costs to make her home more accessible in her current state.

Pippins was at Wet Willie's at the Lindbergh City Center in Buckhead on Aug. 3 celebrating her friend's birthday. A man she did not know picked her up despite her repeatedly telling him not to do so. 

The man then lost his balance and dropped Pippins, who landed on her head and was unconscious. The man fled the scene and has still not yet been located. Pippins was unable to move her arms and legs once she regained consciousness.

Pippins is the mother of four children, with her youngest child being 5 years old, according to Fox News Atlanta.

Reporter Newspapers reports that Pippins is currently receiving treatment at the Shepherd Center in Buckhead and will be released in October.
