β° Daylight Saving Time Poll! π€
Daylight saving time begins on March 12. According to history, we can thank entomologist George Hudson for coming up with the idea in 1895. Implementation took place in 1918 to save resources and extend the work day during wartime. In 1966, daylight saving time became the law of the land, but states could opt out. So far, only Hawaii and Arizona have done so. Now, dueling studies point to the successes and failures of the practice. Where do you stand on the issue? So far, 66.1% donβt like daylight saving time, while 33.3% do. Only 0.6% donβt care one way or the other.

- If youβre champing at the bit to own one of the condos at the Dillon project at the 2500 block of Peachtree Road, youβll be happy to learn that the project is on schedule. Developers revealed that βwith all deep foundational work completed, columns installed, and floors set to start quickly stacking,β the finish date in the fourth quarter of 2024 is still feasible. (Atlanta Urbanize)
- The Institute of Museum and Library Services gave the Childrenβs Museum of Atlanta at 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive Northwest a $210,306 grant. The museum intends to use the funds to βexpand its play-based, curriculum-directed virtual learning opportunities.β The organization making the grant did so under its Museums for America Initiative, which looks to find new ways of encouraging learning. (Rough Draft Atlanta)
- Are you the type of procrastinator whoβs just now getting around to making Valentineβs Day plans? Yahoo has your back, with a list of places to take a date. And yes, some are in Buckhead. A good example is the High Museum at 1280 Peachtree Street Northeast. Another option is to walk the Atlanta BeltLine in the area. Since most restaurants most likely already have their reservations filled, plan on a picnic. (Yahoo!)
- The Plywood People at 933 Lee Street Southwest invite you to hear from Brandon Franklin. The meeting takes place on February 24 at 9 a.m. Because this event wonβt be live-streamed, members of the areaβs creative community will do well to show up in person. (ATL)
