π Fair Food Poll!
Fair food is the ultimate cheat meal. Although we all know itβs unhealthy, everyone has a guilty pleasure. Which is your favorite? So far, 30.6% love funnel cake, 22.4% look forward to candy apples, 14.2% munch on corndogs, and 6.1% reach for guacamole. 4.1% each either eat cotton candy, tri-tip sandwiches, or cheesecake. Finally, 2% each favor guacamole with cheese, fried cheese curds, turkey legs, a deep-fried bacon-wrapped pickle, cinnamon rolls, or pork chop on a stick. The rest have the willpower to stay away from fair food.
π° Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:
- Itβll take more than a rifle and body armor to gain the upper hand when the Atlanta Police Department (APD) is on your trail. A suspect found this out on Saturday near Mary Street Southwest and Smith Street Southwest. An officer saw the suspect shoot into a home, and chased the fleeing individual. Dressed all in black, the suspect figured hiding between a couple of homes near 1003 McDaniel Street would throw the officer off the trail. The suspect was apprehended and βcharged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Damage to Property, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.β (APD)
- The Peachtree Road Farmers Market opened again last week! Come every Saturday to check out whatβs for sale. It sets up at The Cathedral of St. Philip (2744 Peachtree Road Northwest) between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. By the way, you can also volunteer at the weekly market! (Peachtree Road Farmers Market)
- The Enchanted Sleep treatment at the Waldorf Astoria might just be on the cutting edge of a new trend. We learned Thursday that high-end spas are now adding sleep-focused treatments to their menus of service. However, each spa has its own setup. Some use βherb-infused Shankara oilsβ while others have a "Quantum Harmonics wave bed." At the Waldorf, experts combine warmth with chamomile tea and lavender oil. Over the course of 75 minutes, you relax and end the experience with βinstructed breathing that signals to the body it is time gradually to adjust your circadian rhythm.β (MindBodyGreen)
- Today, Friday, Le Labo opens at 3035 Peachtree Road Northeast. The Buckhead Village storefront greatly expands on the initial counter space the brand received at Bloomingdaleβs in 2019. If youβre unfamiliar with the brand, insiders describe it as βan open artisanal laboratory designed as an entertainment park for the nose where people can take the time to smell and touch raw ingredients in order to awaken their olfactory system and trigger emotions.β The personalized nature of the experience is well worth a visit. (What Now Atlanta)
- Just when insiders described the Woodland Hills Manor at 1690 West Paces Ferry Road as the most expensive piece of real estate, listed at $14.9 million, 421 Blackland Road Northwest came on the market a couple of days ago at $15 million. The Tuxedo Park property has seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. (Redfin)
