Flames for Firemen and Knock Out Cancer This Week in Buckhead

The Atlanta City Council Meeting will also be held Monday.

Youth Choir Tour Concert

Shallowford's Chapel choir is made up of 65 singers from more than 8 school around Atlanta,Β in grades 7 - 12 (and more boys than girls!). They are taking their concert, Let Your Life Shine, on tour throughout the U.S. southeast for ten days this summer.

Maxwell Ryan’s presentation titled, β€œThe Ten Things You Need to Know about Apartment Therapy: Where we came from and Where we Think Design on the Web is Going,” will enlighten participants on the history of Apartment Therapy (the first design blog of its kind), as well as where design sites are going in the next few years.

The Blue Heron Nature Preserve will host an opening reception for its newest summer art exhibit: Awareness of Birds Thru Art: "Ugly Pretty," by Allison Richter.Β

Fourth Annual Flames for Firemen

With summer quickly approaching,Β Shula's 347 Grill officially opens its patio to host the fourth-annual Flames for Firemen party. The city’s finest firefighters set the outdoor grills ablaze for the fundraising event to benefit the Atlanta Fire Foundation. Guests can enjoy $5 burgers, cocktail specials, raffle prizes, live entertainment and more.

6-9 p.m. Free.

Knock Out Cancer Benefit Party

Knock out Cancer and Coast Seafood and Raw Bar are coming together to raise money to find a cure for blood cancer.Β  All proceeds of this event are going to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. For $40, getΒ beer, wine and signature cocktails provided, lots of food from Coast’s kitchen will be served by their wonderful staff, and entertained by live music!

7-11 p.m. $40.
