Ole Miss Star Robert Nkemdiche Faces Drug Charges After Fall From Atlanta Hotel

Ole Miss player Robert Nkemdiche fell out of a Buckhead hotel room over the weekend and is now facing marijuana possession charges.

BUCKHEAD, GA -- The college football player who fell from a Buckhead hotel room window Saturday night has been charged after police found a small amount of suspected marijuana in his room.

Robert Nkemdiche was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after suffering two 15-foot falls at the Hyatt on Peachtree Street at approximately 11:20 p.m.

Police have since charged Nkemdiche with marijuana possession and say that several of Nkemdiche’s friends refused to cooperate in the investigation, CBS Atlanta says.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze released a statement Sunday evening, saying, ”We are still learning about the matter, but obviously Robert’s wellbeing is our greatest concern.”

The defensive lineman is expected to be a top-10 pick in the 2016 NFL draft. Most recently, the junior was selected along with two other Ole Miss players on the AP All American Team.
