During the period between 2010 and 2012, $80,000 was stolen from the E. Rivers Elementary School PTA and the E. Rivers Education Foundation, during the time when Arjomand was president of both organizations.

An investigation later revealed that the stolen funds were funneled into an account at a bank where Arjomand had previously worked. She turned herself into police in April 2012 in connection with the theft charges.
