Georgia Weather Forecast: Days of Rain Will Finally Put Dent in Drought

ATLANTA, GA — We'll get a calmer round of storms to start out this week, with all eyes on the thermometer as we wrap the week with some of our coldest temperatures so far this season, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain will dwindle overnight, but it will return by Monday afternoon, with only a noticeable breeze. Rain continues Monday night, with winds picking up, gusting as high as 20 mph.

Showers will move out early Tuesday afternoon, with temperatures at 63 degrees. It'll be mostly sunny Wednesday at 58 degrees.

But the cold snap comes Thursday night, with a low around 26 degrees. The high Friday will be 39 degrees and temperatures will fall to near 25 degrees Friday night.

Sunday Night: Rain before 7pm, then rain with patchy drizzle between 7pm and 1am, then patchy drizzle with a chance of rain after 1am. Patchy fog after 7pm. Low around 44. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday: Rain likely, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 55. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers, mainly before 1pm. High near 63. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 39.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 25.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 45.
