Get Active with buckheadWALKS! and buckheadRUN!

ATLANTA – April 26, 2025 – This weekend brings two opportunities for fun and fitness, courtesy of Livable Buckhead. buckheadRUN!, Livable Buckhead’s fifth annual 5K race, returns on Saturday, April 29 at 8 a.m. The race also kicks off buckheadWALKS!, a four-week walk challenge where coworkers, friends, families and neighbors compete for prizes by walking and participating in weekly fitness and wellness-focused activities.

For the first time, buckheadRUN! is part of Buckhead Village District’s Bodacious Blooms festival, a four-day celebration of spring featuring larger-than-life floral installations and community-wide events. Runners are encouraged to dress in flower-themed garb, with the best adult costume earning a $200 Fifth Group Restaurant gift card and best kid costume receiving two enhanced experience gift cards for SlooMoo.

buckheadRUN! is open to runners of all ages and abilities. In addition to awards for the fastest runners in various age groups, buckheadRUN! includes a “Fastest Fido” category, a pre-race hype event and post-race celebration. Top male and female runners will win a weekend stay and breakfast for two at Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta, while “Fastest Fido” earns a one-night stay with dog bed, bowl, treats and breakfast for two. buckheadRUN! registration is $40 for adults and $25 for children.

Throughout May, Buckhead residents and workers participating in buckheadWALKS! compete for prizes -- on their own or as part of a team – by walking as many steps as possible and joining additional activities including scavenger hunts and Buckhead walking tours. buckheadWALKS! registration is open to anyone who lives or works in Buckhead.

The winning buckheadWALKS! team earns a $250 Simon gift card and PATH400 t-shirts. The individual who earns the most points will receive a $75 Sweetgreen gift card, high performance running shoes from Road Runner and a two-night stay at Hyatt Centric.
