During a preliminary hearing on Friday, a police detective testified that Harper believed Nwankwo was possessed by a demon and that God had ordered him to carry out the act, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The two men were on guard duty about 5 a.m. Oct. 1 when shots rang out inside 3348 Peachtree, Atlanta police spokesman Elizabeth Espy said. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Nwankwo dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
