ICYMI: Arrests Made at Site of Entering Auto Spree

Officers learned a vehicle the suspects were using was stolen, and discovered items which could have been stolen from other cars.

Atlanta police have arrested three people who were found to be in possession of a stolen car near where dozens of vehicles were broken into this week, according to a police report.

Two officers were patrolling the 1700 block of Northside Drive at 2:45 a.m. Thursday when they noticed three black males get out of a black vehicle and leave a parking deck. Officers detained the trio and discovered that the black vehicle had been stolen. The three suspects, including a juvenile, were arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen auto.

Inside the stolen vehicle, investigators discovered several items which could belong to people whose cars were broken into on Wednesday or earlier in the week, the report says. Furthermore, officers located two vehicles on the same level of the parking deck the suspect vehicle that had their windows smashed out. It wasn’t clear if these were new entering auto attempts or cars that had been broken into earlier in the week.
