Kidnapped Infant Found Safe, Mother Arrested
Police say the child was in state custody when he was taken from Lenox Square Mall by his biological mother Monday morning.
BUCKHEAD, GA -- Police have located a 14-month-old boy who was allegedly kidnapped by his mother from Lenox Square Mall on Monday morning, according to a report.
Ryan Alwadi was located with his mother Sahar Alwadi, 45, at a Motel 6 in DeKalb County Monday night, 11 Alive News reports. The elder Alwadi was arrested while her son was returned to state custody, according to the report.
Sahar Alwadi allegedly took little Ryan out of the mall via Macy’s during a DFACS supervised visit at 11:30 a.m. Monday, according to police bulletin. DFACS told police that Alwadi does not own a vehicle and may have used MARTA to escape the area.

Alwadi has been charged with kidnapping, according to Fulton County jail records. She is being held without bond.
