Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich faced off in Florida Tuesday, and less than a minute after the last polling place closed, CNN and AP called the race for Romney.
, R-Atlanta, one of , said he was βdelightedβ that the former Massachusetts governor won Floridaβs primary Tuesday night.
βTwo things should now be abundantly clear to all Republicans,β Lindsay said. Β βFirst, we must do all we can to defeat President Obama. And the second thing is, Mitt Romney will be our nominee, and the sooner we can all unite behind him, the better.β

Lindsay said Florida voters βgot to know the Romney that many of us already know: a man of integrity with enormous skills in the public and private sector.β
At the same time, Gingrichβs Georgia campaign office issued a statement that said their candidate is looking forward to Georgiaβs Super Tuesday on March 6.

"WeΒ look forward to Super Tuesday and the pivotal role Georgia will play on that important day," said Susan L. Meyers, the campaignβs southeast communications director. "Newt has a tremendous following in Georgia and throughout the South, and we will even this upΒ on March 8."
The Gingrich campaign office in Buckhead spent time Tuesday working the phones to get supporters to the polls in Florida's primary for the presidential nomination. And they're already looking ahead to Super Tuesday on March 6, which will include the Georgia GOP primary.
