Man Shot To Death In Buckhead Was Trying To Break Into Businesses

ATLANTA -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the heart of Buckhead's commercial district. According to police, the man was found shot to death at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Bennett Street on Monday morning. The name of the victim, who was found, according to police, wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants and black gloves, has not been released.

Police believe the man was involved in some sort of crime. A Dodge Challenger also found at the scene had been reported being seen in several auto break-ins also Sunday night, police said.

Atlanta police said late Monday afternoon they had located surveillance videos showing the man was trying to break into a business on Bennett Street. When he entered the business, someone inside shot him.

Police said the man then attempted to return to his car, the Dodge Challenger.

No charges are expected against the individual who shot the suspect.
