BUCKHEAD, GA β€” Monday, May 30 is Memorial Day. In observance of the holiday, most federal, state and local government offices are closed in Buckhead Atlanta.

Many local facilities and government offices will close on Memorial Day in remembrance of the men and women who served and gave their lives for the United States.

There will be no mail delivery. Many Buckhead businesses are open but with different hours β€” so it's not a bad idea to check before heading out.

Here's a look at what's open and closed in Buckhead on Memorial Day:

  • Fulton County courts, facilities and offices will be closed on Monday.
  • Atlanta public safety services are available 365 days per year.
  • Municipal offices for Atlanta will be closed.
  • Trash will not be collected in Atlanta.
  • Fulton County public libraries will be closed on Monday, and will reopen to the public Tuesday, May 31 for daily service.
  • Fulton County Schools students are on summer vacation.
  • This is a federal holiday and all U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed on Monday. No mail will be delivered or sent.
  • All banks will be closed.
  • Check local grocery store hours.
