Model, Friend Found Dead In Buckhead Apartment: Police

Two women, Summer Moss and Katherine Green, found dead Thursday in Buckhead apartment. Police are still investigating their deaths.

ATLANTA, GA -- Two women were recently found dead in a Buckhead apartment, police said. Summer Moss, a local model, and her friend Katherine Green were discovered by a friend inside their apartment Thursday night.

An officer responded to 1009 Summit North Drive and found Moss in the bathroom and Green in the bedroom about 9 p.m. in what officials are investigating as drug-related deaths. A friend of the women told WSB-TV that they battled drug addiction.

Chucky Kahng, who was close to Moss, told the TV station that "When you hear of someone like that passing, it really does come as a shock. It makes it harder to believe that they're not here anymore." Kahng, a photographer, said that he met Moss about a decade ago.

Moss was found on the floor with her leg propped up against the door frame, according to WXIA-TV. Still clutched in her hand was a purple straw with a white powdery substance inside. On the countertop in the bathroom, was a container with blue pills insid and two plastic wrapped balls of a white powdery substance. Also authorities found what they suspect is marijuana wrapped in plastic.

Green was reportedly found on a bedroom floor wrapped in a blanket. She could not be revived.

A YouCaring fundraising page has been set up by Moss' family to cover funeral-related expenses. It says in part:

Summer Michelle Moss was a beautiful and vibrant young woman who was loved by many. Regretfully, she was taken from us too soon and passed away on April 27th, 2017. Please pray for her family and loved ones during this difficult time including her mother, Tina Kennedy, her brother, Rick Moss, and her sister, Kristen Kennedy.

The page had gotten more than $6,790 toward its $15,000 goal as of Monday morning.

"She was so fragile, she was so kind, she was like an angel ... but we didn't expect her to become an angel so soon," Kahng told the TV station.
