Here are the top three stories today in Buckhead:

  1. The 2022 Music Midtown festival, scheduled for Sep. 17 to 18 in Piedmont Park, has been canceled. Yesterday, event organizers posted online that the decision was "due to circumstances beyond [their] control," and ticket holders would receive refunds within 24 hours. 11 Alive reports that Music Midtown's weapons policy, which bans weapons "of any kind," conflicts with the state's constitutional carry law; however, organizers have not cited a specific reason for the cancelation. (11 Alive)
  2. Postino Wine Cafe will soon open its first Atlanta metro location in Buckhead. The eatery is slated to open at the Tuxedo Festival shopping center on Roswell Road later this summer. In 2023, the wine cafe plans to open a second location at the Brickworks on Marietta Street. (Eater Atlanta)
  3. Livable Buckhead invites the community to join in its next Movies in the Park event! On Friday, Aug. 19, guests can head to Old Ivy Park at 7:30 p.m. to meet some special reptiles, then enjoy a viewing of Sing 2 at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free; however, online RSVPs are required.
