1. One of the most anticipated events of the National Medical Association (NMA) Convention, The Living Legends Gala, will be held at The Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta this Friday at 6 p.m. The evening serves to honor two healthcare superstars, Dr. David Satcher and Dr. Louis Sullivan. The night is also about supporting student scholarships and programming. Tickets can be purchased here. (CBS 46 News)
2. Buckhead will be getting a new restaurant later this summer, one known for its locations in New York, Connecticut, and Florida. Isla and Co. is an Australian-style café that serves brunch food, including a brekkie roll and healthy choices like mushroom toast. It will open in the Andrews Square complex on East Andrews Drive. 3. According to authorities, a disorderly conduct complaint was filed Monday at the Buckhead Volunteer Fire Station. A man approached two men mowing grass at the station and asked why his father, a member of the station's maintenance crew, was given weed eater detail. According to reports, he became enraged about his father's assigned detail and allegedly began using profanity. (Morgan County Citizen)
