New Year's Eve Street Closures Announced

Atlanta police have shared a list of road closures caused by New Year's Eve events.

PARADE- Starting at 6:00am, the streets listed below will be closed due to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Roads should reopen after 10:30 am. Please plan ahead for increased traffic in downtown area.

Starting at 6:00 am: Baker Street between Marietta Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive; Luckie Street between Ivan Allen Boulevard and Baker Street; Park Avenue West between Marietta Street and Baker Street; Simpson Street from Marietta Street to Luckie Street; Latimer Street from Marietta Street to Luckie Street.

Starting at 7:30 am – Baker Street between Marietta Street and Williams Street; Centennial Olympic Park Drive between Ivan Allen Boulevard and Marietta Street; Marietta Street between Centennial Olympic Park Drive and Baker Street; Andrew Young International Boulevard between Williams Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive; Simpson Street between Williams Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive; and W. Peachtree Place between Williams Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive.

A Pedestrian only corridor will be established around Underground Atlanta beginning at 5:00pm. The public is asked to refrain from bringing large bag, backpacks, coolers, etc. which will not be permitted in the venue area. If you must bring a bag to the event, please bring a small bag or clear bag. All bags are subject to a search. Refusal to have your bag searched, means you will be denied entry.

Also remember to remind citizens that both Underground Parking Decks will not be open for public parking so we encourage people to take MARTA or other public transportation.
