Open & Shut Buckhead: New Furniture Store Opens; Wendy's Closed

Modani, a Miami-based furniture shop, opened quietly in the former Ethan Allen space adjacent to CVS on Peachtree Road last week. The 11,000 square foot store at the Buckhead Pavillion Shopping Center had a soft opening "because we had customers waiting to shop" an employee told Tomorrow's News Today. Modani offers residential andΒ commercial Β contemporaryΒ furniture, lighting, decor and design services.
The Cookie Studio recently opened in Buckhead after relocating from Decatur.
Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming near Cacao on Peachtree Road has reopened under new ownership after closing its doors last year after being named a finalist for the Buckhead Business Association's Business of the Year in January 2012.

Umi is bringing classic along with modern Japanese flavors to Buckhead when it opens in May. The restaurant, which originally was expected to open mid-April, will be located at 3050 Peachtree Road, next to the St. Regis Hotel. With more than 28 years of culinary experience in both traditional Japanese and classic French restaurants, Tokyo-born chef and partner Fuyuhiko Ito will lead the kitchen and introduce a diverse menu with international influences and progressive approaches to Asian fare.
Wendy's at 1940 Piedmont Road is closed, reports WSB-TV, due to a leaky roof. Buckhead Patch will update readers on when the fast food restaurant will reopen after repairs are made.
