'Peter Pan' Soars Over Pace Academy Stage
The Pace Academy Fine Arts Center hosted sold-out crowds for the run of the theater season.
Sold-out crowds greeted the production of the βPeter Panβ on the Pace Academy Fine Arts Center stage Nov. 14-17, kicking off the schoolβs 2013-2014 Upper School theatre season.Β
George Mengert directed the production with music direction by Performing Arts teacher Susan Wallace, according to a release by Caitlin Goodrich Jones. βPeter Panβ featured a talented cast of 45 Middle and Upper school students, led by junior Caillin Cooke as Peter, senior Sam Downey as Captain Hook, senior Cory Bush as Wendy and senior Alexandra McCorkle as Tiger Lily. Rounding out the principal cast were juniors Cooper Drose, Rebecca Husk and Sam Nail, sophomore Ryan Duvall, eighth-grader Cole McCorkle and seventh-grader Hoke Faser.
The show played to sold-out crowds and won raves reviews from audience members who called the production βamazing,β βfabulous,β βimpressiveβ and βincredible.β The school enlisted the aereography services of Las Vegas-based company, Flying by Foy, to provide the βfairy dustβ that enabled the actors to fly. Ingenious stage magic, an enchanting set designed by Technical Director Scott Sargent and lots of happy thoughts transported audiences to Neverland.
