Rapper Young Thug Owes $2.2M On Buckhead Mansion: Report

Atlanta rapper Young Thug is being sued for allegedly not paying the note on his Buckhead mansion.

BUCKHEAD, GA -- Atlanta rapper Young Thug is apt to post pictures on social media with brick-like stacks of dollar bills. A lawsuit filed by a real estate company claims that some of that money should be going to them.

Heritage Select Homes LLC is suing the "Worth It" rapper, alleging that he has defaulted on more than $2.2 million in house payments for a Buckhead mansion in a gated community, according to news reports.

Records obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution show that in September Young Thug signed documents that put him on the hook for a balloon promissory note, which means that he agreed to pay a large sum, typically several months or years of monthly payments all at once.

Young Thug, aka Jeffery Williams grew up in southwest Atlanta and is one of hip-hop's most popular artists.

The rapper is currently touring around the nation and a spattering of international dates, including shows in Miami on Saturday and then to Ohio. He performs at Atlanta on May 5 (so he'd better watch for a summons). He travels to London for a show in July.

Young Thug agreed to a payment schedule of $86,500 on October and another$86,033 in November, according to the AJC. In December he agreed to fork over $150,567 on December followed by two more payments of $14,667 in January and February.

But in March, he didn't pay $2,214,667 due on the home, according to the lawsuit filed by Atlanta-based firm Knight Johnson, LLC.

Trouble has followed the hip-hop star since he broke on the scene a few years ago. Last month, a protege accused him of slapping her outside a College Park bar.

In December, he was arrested in Lenox Square in connection with an outstanding warrant.
