π° Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:
- On Saturday, before noon, the Atlanta Police Department (APD) received notice of a shooting at 1080 Peachtree Street Northeast. After the shooting victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, officers determined he was βthe primary aggressor in a domestic disputeβ before a third party fired the shot. The aggressor was taken to Grady detention and charged βwith Battery/Family Violence.β (APD)
- A Buckhead Chase bank is ground zero for an identity theft probe. Somebody entered the bank with a Southern California victimβs βIRA rollover check pretending to be himβ and stole $400,000. Adding insult to injury, the victim felt the need to reach out to βChannel 2 Consumer Investigator Justin Gray after getting nowhere for more than three weeks trying to get his stolen money back from Chase.β In addition to cashing a check that was made out to βVanguard Investments,β the bank also βallowed the crook to open two checking accountsβ in the victimβs name and βwrite $25,000 worth of checks.β The bank βwill not comment on the fraud or what went wrong with security measures.β (WSBTV)
- The Blue Divine Medical Spa at 107 West Paces Ferry Road Northwest is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. The company said on Friday that its location is a βfavorite of Atlanta celebrities, (but) you don't have to be famous (or on a celebrity budget) to get star treatment at Blue Divine.β (Digital Journal)
- The Cathedral of St. Philip will host the Requiem. On February 10, βtwo contrasting and deeply profound musical treatmentsβ of this piece will be performed. βThe Cathedral Schola will open the evening, a cappella, with the poignant, almost painfully beautiful, non-liturgical Requiem by Herbert Howells, following which the full Cathedral Choir and orchestra will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartβs timeless masterpiece.β (Patch)
