πŸ“° 2022 News Poll πŸ“
There was a lot of bad news in 2022. However, there was some great news, too. Which was your favorite good news story of 2022? So far, 44.4% like the collaboration to end plastic pollution, while 33.3% favor the news that Ethiopia’s civil war is over. 11.1% like news of a new malaria vaccine, and the final 11.1% are excited about hydrogen-powered trains.

πŸ“° Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:

  1. Signal House at 675 Ponce De Leon Ave Northeast will throw open its doors for leasing β€œin the first quarter of 2023.” Targeted tenants are β€œactive adults aged 55+,” who are in the market for a β€œdigitally integrated living experience.” Reportedly, amenities will include β€œa pool terrace with a shaded grotto lounge and outdoor shower” and a rooftop terrace. (Rough Draft Atlanta)
  2. The β€œunusually formal and knowledgeable anonymous complaint” that caused the @BuckheadCityGA sign to be issued a citation, merited a mention in Friday’s Stanley Awards listing. This isn’t anything to be proud of, as it denotes β€œGeorgia’s worst suppressions of First Amendment and open government.” List-compilers referred to the action of city inspectors as β€œpetty, speech-reducing shots.” (Saporta Report)
  3. Insiders have spoken, and you can read the list of places that’ll serve you a great brunch this New Year’s Day. Among a host of fine eateries is Botica at 1820 Peachtree Road Northwest for its Que Padre and Cava Rita. Another location to know is 5Church at 3379 Peachtree Road Northeast, a hot tip for its biscuits and gravy, as well as the mimosas and sangria. (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution/paywall)
  4. MARTA wants you to rely on public transportation this New Year’s Eve β€” particularly the Red Line, but also the Green, Blue, and Gold lines will have adjusted run times throughout the day. Streetcars are scheduled to run from 8:17 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. However, before you head to the Buckhead Station, check the schedule for up-to-the-minute information. (MARTA)
