📰 Here are the top stories today in Buckhead:

  1. On Monday, we talked about the Target store fire. On Tuesday, we learned that the fire was set on purpose and not an accident. Reportedly, this was the fourth fire set at an Atlanta retailer in the last few months. At this time, we have no word when the store will reopen. You may remember that the same store was targeted by looters in 2020 and remained closed for a while. Newscasters report a theory that the fire was set to give thieves an opportunity to steal merchandise and get away. (Patch, 11 Alive)
  2. On Sunday, just before midnight, a man was shot at 893 Peachtree Street Northeast. The victim told officers of the Atlanta Police Department (APD) that he was walking toward his vehicle when he noticed his driver’s side window was busted and a man was inside the car. When the suspect saw the car’s owner coming toward him, he fired at him and fled in a yellow Dodge Charger. (APD)
  3. We’re getting a Pure Green! We learned on Tuesday that this franchise will open at 2625 Piedmont Road in the spring. If you’re unfamiliar with the brand, it’s known for “serving up delicious and nutritious superfood options,” which has endeared it to the fitness community. Right now, Pure Green has about 24 stores across the country and plans on opening another 400! (What Now Atlanta)
  4. And, while we’re talking about new businesses coming to Buckhead, the Snap Thai Fish House is planning a February grand opening at 3699 Lenox Road Northeast. The chef envisions an experience for guests that will be a “culinary journey to the coast of Thailand.” The restaurant will begin with lunch and dinner, and add a happy hour and weekend brunch in April.
