Therapeutic Horse Arena Planned for Chastain Horse Park
$125,000 project would bring new arena to Powers Ferry Road facility.

An Auburn, Ga. woman has filed plans with the city department of buildings to build an 11,000-square foot therapeutic horse arena at the Chastain Horse Park.
The new building at 4371 Powers Ferry Road has a projected cost of $125,000, according to the filing to the city submitted by Caren Ann Nunally.
The Chastain Horse Park's therapeutic program is designed to allow those children and adults with developmental challenges, physical disabilities or emotional problems ranging from Down Syndrome to spinal cord injuries to depression, to work with horses, their trainers and therapists.

The new arena still must undergo a series of reviews before getting final approval, including with zoning officials, arborist, and building review among other a city agencies.
For example, the project is slated for a review by zoning officials on March 26.
