Three Women Host Fundraiser to Help Find Cure for Breast Cancer
Three women are raising money for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for family members and friends who are battling breast cancer or other types of cancer.
It's become quite a trend and now is even big business for many companies who make the wise and profitable decision to "go pink" each year.
But the pink ribbon symbol is more than just a trend. It symbolizes the thousands of women (and men) who have fought for their lives against a disease that still has no cure. It symbolizes the mothers who lost the battle and their daughters who soldier on to find a cure. It symbolizes the women who survived and celebrate every day because they are stronger than they ever thought they were.
Three women held a fundraiser on Thursday at Stagecoach bar on Irby Avenue in Buckhead to help raise money for the Susan G. Komen Atlanta 3-Day Walk in October, which consists of 60 miles. Each two-day walker must raise at least $1,000 to participate.
Michelle Leslie, SaraBeth Stine andΒ Suzie Kovalcheck said they all know that 60 miles is a small sacrifice compared to the battle being fought by their loved ones with cancer.
