Week Ahead: Art, Sip & Shop and Food Trucks


Buckhead Community Recycling Event
Bring your old electronics, #6 styrofoam, paper for shredding or recycling, latex paint, single stream recycling  (cardboard, tin/aluminum cans, paper,plastics 1-7), and metals* to our Buckhead Recycling Center on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.


Harriet Leibowitz-A Southern Season art exhibit: Alan Avery Art Company will hold a reception for an exhibition featuring a new ground breaking body of work by Renowned Atlanta photographer Harriet Leibowitz. This will be her first one person show since joining the gallery in 2011. The reception will be from 7 until 10 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013. The exhibition continues through 
Saturday, October 5, 2013.

Food Trucks at Shallowford: Check out this family-friendly  program every Wednesday evening during the school year, -- starts with dinner at 6, (except Food Truck nights start at 5:30), followed by adult and children's programs from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Dinner is $8/adult, $5/child, $25 family max. Please call ahead to let us know you're coming (404-321-1844). 

Sip & Shop: Mix, mingle and shop with JapOw Online Boutique and featured business owners at The House of Peter Maxfield. Enjoy special giveaways from Colour U Cosmetics and the beautiful Jae Nash from VH1, Tough Love CoEd will host this event on Saturday, Sept. 7 at The House of Peter Maxfield at 2859 Piedmont Rd.

Compassion Meditation & Discussion: The practice of compassion meditation leads people to the expansion of compassion for self, others, and the world. Join with others in learning and sharing this meditation practice on Tuesday evenings, 5:45 to 6:30 PM, at the Rice Center for Spiritual Practice at Central Congregational United Church of Christ, 2676 Clairmont Rd NE Atlanta.
