'Wishing Tree' Displays Hopes of Community, Passersby
The tree in Buckhead is festooned with slips of paper with wishes made by people passing by the tree.

BUCKHEAD, GA -- The next time you’re in the 4100 block of Powers Ferry Road and notice a tree decked out with holiday lights and what look to be little slips of paper danging from the branches, you might want to pull over and add your wish to the “Wishing Tree.”
Debra Minkley learned of a similar tree in San Francisco and brought the concept to Buckhead over the Thanksgiving weekend, Reporter Newspapers says.
People who pass by the tree are welcome to take a slip of paper, write down a wish on one side, and a thing they’re thankful for on the other. The wishes are placed in a mason jar, and Minkley hangs them on the tree, according to Reporter Newspapers.
