Woman Shoots Man Impersonating Police Officer In Buckhead Near Target: Police
Police are charging a man with Aggravated Assault, Impersonating a Police Officer and more after he tried to pull over a woman in Buckhead.
BUCKHEAD, GA β A woman shot a man claiming to be an off-duty police officer near a Target parking lot after he blocked her vehicle, caused her to crash and then approached her, according to Atlanta police.
Officers responded to a shots fired call 3535 Peachtree Rd NE early Monday morning. They found a man who had been shot by a woman. According to investigators, the woman was working for a ride-share company and had just dropped off a passenger at a motel, when the man, identified as 21-year-old Tyriq Wiggins-Younger, used his vehicle to block her in.
The woman told police she was being followed by the man, which caused her to crash near a Buckhead Target. Wiggins-Younger then approached the woman, who said she feared for her safety, so shot him, police said. The man claimed to be an off-duty police officer attempting to make a traffic stop in his private vehicle, police said.

The woman was not injured, according to police. Wiggins-Younger was arrested and taken to the hospital in stable condition. Heβs being charged with Aggravated Assault, Impersonating a Police Officer, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Related Objects. Wiggins-Younger will be taken to the Fulton County Jail when released from the hospital, according to police.
