πŸ“° Here are the top stories in Buckhead today:

  1. What’s happening with the construction at the intersection of 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue? We all know it as β€œan old development site that’s been little more than a blighted hole for well over a decade.” However, we learned on Friday that developer Mill Creek Residential is taking the reins. The expected structure will be 32 stories tall, feature 361 apartments, and offer street-level restaurant space. β€œThe first move-ins are now scheduled for early 2025.” (Atlanta Urbanize)
  2. If you were planning to head to the Chick-fil-A at 2340 North Druid Hills Road Northeast, wait until January 30. The restaurant temporarily closed for making improvements to the drive-thru and dining room. You may remember that the eatery rebuilt in 2017. (Chick-fil-A)
  3. A shoutout to North Atlanta High School’s music programs director Adam Brooks! On January 19, he'll receive the Manilow Music Project Award that comes with β€œ$5,000 in cash and $5,000 Manilow bucks.” What will he do with the money? β€œHe plans to buy a new speaker system for the band room and a keyboard for the jazz band, which performs seven to 10 times a year.” Congratulations! (Rough Draft Atlanta)
  4. On January 23, the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church will host Jane Pauley, β€œa renowned television host, author, and advocate in the field of mental health.” It's an outreach event of the congregation’s One Lamb Initiative, β€œwhose mission is to nurture and embrace mental wellness in a faithful community of education, connection, and support.” (Patch)
