Man Charged With Drug Possession At Buford Storage Facility
Gwinnett police officers were patrolling in a helicopter when they first noticed the man entering the facility.

BUFORD, GA — A man was arrested Friday after police say he unlawfully entered a Buford Drive storage facility, Gwinnett County Police said Tuesday.
Police helicopter AIR 1 was patrolling the area of Buford and Interstate 985 around 9:30 p.m. , when officers saw a suspicious man walking around the storage facility, police said.
The man walked up to the front gate and tried to open it, police said. Officers on AIR 1 then saw the man walk around the facility and climb a fence into a gated area, police said.

The AIR 1 officers radioed in for ground officers to investigate the matter, police said. The man then went to a parked box truck belonging to the storage facility, opened the driver's side door and placed items inside of it.
The man ran into a complex once officers tried to approach him, and after a brief chase, police used a stun gun on him and he was arrested.

The 30-year-old Lithonia man was charged on suspicion of loitering and prowling, obstruction, two counts of schedule 1 drug possession and one felony count of possession of marijuana.
"The Gwinnett County Aviation Unit provides an invaluable asset to our department. They utilize a unique perspective from the air to aid uniform investigations on the ground," police said in a news release.
