- The $1 Summer Family Movie Series continues this Thursday with screenings of "Rock Dog 2." Two screenings will take place at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by Woodstock City Church, and each ticket holder will receive a free drink, popcorn, and candy. The movie series takes place at Canton Theatre, located at 171 E Main St. (CantonGA)
- The Rotary Club of Canton President-Elect was presented the Avenues of Service award. President-Elect Francisco Lozano received the award, which recognizes his selfless volunteerism across so many different platforms: club service, community service, international service, vocational service, and youth service. - The Canton Police Department, in partnership with other local public safety agencies, is joining forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 39th annual National Night Out. National Night Out is intended to raise crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen police and community partnerships. The event will feature K-9 demonstrations, public safety equipment on display, Safekids, and more activities for children of all ages. National Night Out will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Woodstock Arts Event Green at 111 Elm Street in nearby Woodstock. (Cherokee Tribune)
