Here are the top five stories today in Canton-Sixes:
- According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, at least 20 people in Georgia lost their lives over the Jul. 4 weekend. At least eight of the deaths were in the metro Atlanta area, including Cherokee County. (WSB TV)

- Alexander Riddle, a Sequoyah High School student who will be attending University of Georgia, was awarded the Global Sports Development's 2022 Exceptional Youth Scholarship.
