As we approach this holiday season, what are you thankful for?

I’m thankful for my family. The joy of watching our Grandchildren grow has been amazing. When I was a young mom I worked full time. I had the best of caregivers with Momma Freeman, Big Daddy and Azzie and my sister Gaye Lynn and my faithful backup Mom. But I didn’t have the luxury of being with my daughters on a daily basis. I didn’t even have it with my first grandson. But for the last 10 years of retirement, I’ve had pure joy with my grandchildren. Our oldest has spent most of his life with us. He is working and paying for his first car. He is so tall and handsome. I have traveled to Loganville countless times for LaGrosse and Soccer games and field trips. Watching the boys on vacation as they swam in the pool or splashed through the waves or enjoyed the fun at Pigeon Forge was a joy. The past few months I’ve become the babysitter as I take care of our newest grandson while his Mom works part time. I sure am thankful my husband Lewis is here to help too. I’m thankful for all those who helped me over the years and though many of my mentors and family have passed their love and advice lives on as I treasure their memory. Life is so short how in the world am I 72 years old? Thankful for everyday.
