- Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q's Canton location, which has been part of the Canton community for 21 years, remains temporarily closed due to a fire on Sunday, Oct. 23. Cherokee County fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but said it started in the dry storage room. Owner and operator Reyes Morales and General Manager Sharon Morales said they would appreciate prayers. (11 Alive)
- On Monday, Oct. 24, Democratic nominee for governor Stacey Abrams spoke to voters at the Rock Barn in Canton. Abrams encouraged people to vote early and detailed her plans for the state. Speaking of Gov. Brian Kemp, she said, "It took a man to break his promise to them and it will take a woman to put it right." (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger News)
- Yesterday, Oct. 25, Avanta Residential announced the firm has acquired 27 acres of land to develop a built-to-rent community in Canton called Avendale at Riverstone. There will be 278 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom townhomes with many community amenities including a pool. (PR Newswire)
