- Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock is riding high after beating Republican challenger Herschel Walker in the Senate runoff election. At a victory rally in Atlanta, Warnock celebrated "six more years" serving the state of Georgia. Because of Warnock's victory, Democrats will gain a seat in the Senate, giving them the majority vote. This is the second time Warnock has won a runoff election. (NBC10 Boston)
- Cherokee High School Principal Rodney Larotta has received a 'Game Changer' award from Cherokee County District School Superintendent Brian Hightower. Larotta earned the Game Changer Award for Instructional Leadership, and was praised for his dedication to both the school and the broader community. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News)
- A former school superintendent from nearby Pickens County and his wife have pleaded guilty of racketeering and theft by taking. Carlton Wilson and his wife, Cindy Wilson, were charged for their involvement in multiple plots to illegally obtain funds for their personal use. Cindy Wilson participated in one of these schemes alongside her husband. Carlton Wilson has also pleaded guilty to six additional counts, including theft by deception. (ValdostaToday.com)

- The Clerk of Courts adopted 20 seniors this year from Cherokee County. Seniors who were adopted got a basket of goodies from volunteers and donations.
