CCSD: 'Call Mother Nature' To Complain About Lack Of Snow
The Cherokee County School District is using its dry sense of humor to troll its Twitter followers about the snow that didn't show up.

CANTON, GA — The winter weather event expected to move into metro Atlanta and north Georgia Tuesday turned out to be a dud, and provided the Cherokee County School District the perfect opportunity to showcase its witty sense of humor to anyone who dares question why classes are not in session.
The Jan. 29 forecast originally called for up to an inch and a half, possibly two in isolated areas, of snow to blanket the area. However, warmer than expected temperatures lingered throughout the morning, causing most of the precipitation to remain in a liquid format.
Sensing that this would propel many residents, mostly students, to litter the school district's Twitter mentions with questions about why school was called off, CCSD took no chances and pinned a preemptive roasting of a tweet at the top of its news feed:

"Thanks for calling. We do our best to keep you safe. If you’re mad there’s no snow, please hang up & call Mother Nature," CCSD said. "If you’re wondering “school tmrw?” please hang up & call Doc Brown. If you’re bored, do homework, eat some milk & bread & make the best of today. #SafeCherokee."
To play up the amount of record rainfall metro Atlanta and north Georgia has seen over the past few months, the district's tweet is complete with a photo of what would have been a snowman if the white stuff fell on Cherokee County. However, the universe had other plans, and we are left to use mud to celebrate this unimpressive weather event:

A Winter Weather Advisory that went into effect at 3 a.m. Tuesday is now canceled, but patchy black ice is will become a growing threat as temperatures continue to drop throughout Tuesday. Any moisture left on the roadways will refreeze, creating treacherous traveling conditions overnight and into Wednesday morning.
National Weather Service forecasters say the rest of Tuesday will include clearing skies, followed by the coldest temperatures of the year. The mercury will dip well into the upper teens to low 20s, according to the forecast. The original forecast propelled all school districts in the metro Atlanta area to close up shop, as did local and state government offices.
With black ice expected to form in some areas, these government agencies and school systems will keep a close eye on the roads to determine if they will return to business as usual on Wednesday, delay opening or remain closed.
