CCSD Presents Elementary School Honor Chorus Program

More than 100 Cherokee County School District young singers were selected to perform with the district’s annual Elementary School Honor Chorus!

The program welcomed 116 select students, who included representatives from all of CCSD’s 23 elementary schools, for a day of learning and performance.
Under the direction of guest clinician Amanda Dodd and accompanied by Marcena Kinney, the students spent the day rehearsing at the Falany Performing Arts Center at Reinhardt University in Waleska. The day ended with a concert performed by the honor chorus.

Jennifer Jones, CCSD’s administrator for humanities and fine arts, said the program was a resounding success. “The parents were absolutely blown away by the collective sound produced by the students,” she said.
“Congratulations to all of the talented singers selected to participate in this special program and kudos on an excellent performance,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said. “We hope you will consider continuing your music education through our outstanding middle and high school chorus programs. We greatly appreciate all of our dedicated music teachers for their efforts every day and through this program to foster a love of music among our students.”
