History Cherokee invites the community to a sparkling evening of celebration, recognition, and entertainment at the 2025 Historic Preservation Awards Gala, held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 6:30 PM at Timbers on Etowah, located on the historic Mill on Etowah.

Over the past 34 years, the Historic Preservation Awards have honored more than 150 historic sites and stewards across Cherokee County. This year’s Gala promises to uphold that legacy—while adding exciting new elements that make the evening more festive than ever.

  • A formal awards ceremony recognizing individuals and properties preserving our county’s history
  • A gourmet dinner catered by Alessandro’s Italian Café, along with drinks
  • A silent auction benefiting preservation efforts
  • And new this year—an After Party on the Green!

Once the awards wrap up, the celebration continues outside the venue on the Green at The Mill. Enjoy a nostalgic and lively performance from Rian Davis and the Chairmen of Swing, an 18-piece orchestra bringing big-band classics and fresh sounds to life.
