Chamber Names Leadership Cherokee Class Of 2019
Over the next nine months, the 23 class members will learn about a variety of sectors and industries in Cherokee County.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce has selected the residents and stakeholders who will take part in the Leadership Cherokee Class of 2019. This 31st anniversary class was chosen after the nomination, application and interview process.
The 23 class members recently traveled to Brasstown Valley Resort for their retreat. The group
participated in both indoor and outdoor team building exercises that enabled them to learn not only about each other, but themselves through a look at personality types and communication styles, said Neil Blackman, the 2019 chair of Leadership Cherokee.
Class members are April Weeks, Weeks Law, P.C.; Zachanta Valoy, Kennesaw State University; Tina Farmer, Cherokee County School District; Katie Bishop, R & D Mechanical Services; Stephanie Villasenor, Cherokee Family Violence Center; Kryss Roch, Cherokee County Office of the Solicitor General; Jenny Rose, Rose & Associates, P.C.; Brian Cain, The Oak House; Jimmy Eley, Woodstock Fire Department; Janet Ponichtera, Family Life Publications; Tosha Ginn, North GA CPA Services; Kristi Bosch, city of Waleska; Kyle Porter, Northside Hospital-Cherokee; Brooke Ford, Georgia Division of Family & Children Services; Eric Rein, Renasant Bank; Guillermo Sanabia, WellStar Health System; Chris Sims, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office; Demetria Lane, The Coca-Cola Company; Dr. Jacob Sluder, Dentistry of Olde Towne; Bryon Reeves, city of Ball Ground; Josh Neville, Airborne Canton; Brett Timmer, United Community Bank; and Jason Blakey, Credit Union of Georgia.

Over the next nine months, class members will participate in a broad range of sessions that will focus on a variety of topics such as economic development, infrastructure, government, justice, education, recreation, tourism, public safety, healthcare and social/human services.

"The knowledge gained from the programs offered through Leadership Cherokee will prepare the class members for a more active role in the community," said John Barker, 2019 Chamber chair and owner of Delphi Global Technology.
