- The Cherokee County court system is getting a $1.2 million audio/visual makeover. Upgrades to courtroom equipment will be made throughout Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, the funding was awarded by the Judicial Council of Georgia via the federal American Rescue Plan Act, the full amount released was $1.3 million. After the equipment in all courtrooms has been replaced, what's left will go to pay senior judges that are brought in to hear cases and other costs like court reporters and bailiffs. - If you haven't quite figured out which Memorial Day ceremony you'd like to attend, there are a few going on in our area. The Georgia National Cemetery here in town will start their ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the cemetery assembly area in the cemetery. Cherokee County Scout Troop 625 is hosting a Memorial Day Flag Retirement Ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Little River Methodist Church in Woodstock, and the City of Woodstock is holding a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday at The Park at City Center starting at 9:30 a.m. (Subscription: Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News)
- If it gets hot this weekend, there's relief right up the road at the Oasis at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. The outdoor pool is now open and has a water playground, two water slides and lots of fun features for the tiny kids, along with pavilions, family restrooms, locker rooms and cabana rentals. You can pay the entry fee when you get there or get season passes for the family. The hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily, except on Sundays, when it will be open from noon-5 p.m. (Cherokee Recreation & Parks)

- Cherokee County Master Gardeners Plant Sale: The sale is open to the public and will feature plants like sun and shade perennials, bushes and trees. You can register for the free event at the link, it will be held at Cherokee County Senior Services, 1001 Univeter Road. (9 a.m. - noon)
- Themed Book Club: For adult readers, read a book with this month's theme, family sagas, and meet up to share your thoughts. You can also find the group on Beanstack, and the meeting will be held at the Woodstock Library, 7735 Main St. (10:30 a.m. - noon)
- Red, White & Brews: Reformation Brewery and MilVet Community are hosting the benefit event on The Green in Downtown Woodstock. There will be live music, food trucks and veteran-owned vendors, and ticket proceeds from the event will benefit Shepherd's Men and Honor and Remember. Vendors and live music will be on The Green from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and the concert will run from 5:30-9 p.m. You can grab your tickets and read more about the event at the link. (11 a.m. - 9 p.m.)
- Cornhole & Concert: The competition is from 1-5 p.m., and the concert is from 6-8:30 p.m. Proceeds go to the nonprofit 2polarities. The musical opening act is Scott Smith, and the headliner is Jacob Bryant at The Mill on Etowah, 225 Reformation Parkway. (1 - 8:30 p.m.)
- Escape Room, Save the Canton Theatre - A Live Mystery Puzzle Game: For all skill levels and ages, an escape room-style puzzle game with several showtimes each day at the Historic Canton Theatre. You'll be tasked with saving the theater by finding a missing deed through the completion of puzzle, clue and lockbox games. The event will raise funds for Lolek's Storytellers. (Several Showtime Options, 3 - 10 p.m.)
- Eric Thomas: Live music tonight at Riverstone Corner Bistro, 151 Reinhardt College Parkway. (7 - 9 p.m.)
Tomorrow
- Hike + Yoga with Kaitlin Coleburn: You'll hike around one mile by the river, where you'll participate in a yoga class, meditation and savasana. Please bring water and snacks. (9 a.m. - noon)

Bikes and Classic cars are welcome, there will be live music, motorcycles and drinks, the music will be from Forest Violette and Endangered Species. The ride starts at 2 p.m. at the Sandy Plains Baptist Church parking lot at 2867 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, the music and party start at 4 p.m. at 150 Keith Drive. (2 p.m.)
- Bike Night: Join your friends, neighbors and family for a special Sunday for a family-friendly Bike Night at Canton Icehouse. Children eat free, and there will be live music with Endangered Species Band. Head over with your bike, Canton Icehouse is located at 150 Keith Drive. (4 - 7 p.m.)
- Braves Game on The Big Screen: Watch the game at The Mill on Etowah, 225 Reformation Parkway. (7:08 - 9:30 p.m.)

- Today is the last day of graduation ceremonies at the First Baptist Church in Woodstock. Traffic will be heavy surrounding the church during portions of the morning and afternoon, and because there are activities taking place at the church before and after each of the ceremonies, the slowdown may start more than an hour prior to each. Congratulations to the graduating students from Creekview and Etowah high schools — those ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. today, respectively. (CCSD News)
- The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is holding its regular Saturday adoption event today. The available animals can be seen online here. Please follow the instructions found at the link for getting into the "virtual line." Adoption hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and the shelter is located at 1015 Univeter Road. - The Cherokee Sheriff's Office posted an important Memorial Day weekend reminder: City and county officers are out there in abundance this weekend, but they can't be everywhere all at once.
