  1. Cherokee County saw a surge in voters during the second week of early voting, with 26,962 people showing up in person to cast their ballots. The week before, 14,140 voters turned out at polling locations to cast their votes. Officials suspect part of the reason for these rising numbers has been the addition of more voting locations throughout the county. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News via Facebook)
  2. On Nov. 1, the Cherokee Sheriff's office announced that body cameras have been implemented on the force. Deputies with the office will now wear body cameras when out on the job. There will be 174 body cameras used for field operations, while another 150 will be used for jail operations. (Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News via Facebook)
  3. The Never Alone Food Pantry will be hosting its first annual Lantern Parade on Nov. 5. Events will include a petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses, and more. At dusk, there will be an organized lantern parade. All proceeds will go to supporting the Never Alone Food Pantry. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
