- Units at a Cherokee County fire station have been relocated after a car crash left the station without power on Sunday. A vehicle left the roadway around 4:45 p.m. Firefighters first helped the occupants of the car to safety before extinguishing the fire and controlling leaked fluid to prevent spread. (Subscription, Cherokee Tribune & Ledger-News)
- Cherokee County has reached a growth boundary agreement with the city of Holly Springs. A Growth Boundary Agreement defines and limits future growth for a city, although it is not legally binding. Commission Chairman Harry Johnston said, “This agreement marks a new era of cooperation between Cherokee County and the city of Holly Springs, and now with all the cities of the county. Instead of battling over individual annexation and development decisions, we’re now all committed to [working] together to manage our overall growth in a way that keeps and continues to make Cherokee County the best place in the world to live!” (Cherokee County News)
- The Cherokee County School District will host its fifth annual Support Staff Employees of the Year Awards on Dec. 8. The event will honor one Support Staff Employee of the Year from each of CCSD’s schools. Each honoree, chosen by officials at their school, will receive a plaque and gifts of appreciation. - The Black Market Trust, an American pop and jazz group, will perform at 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 13 at the Falany Performing Arts Center in Cherokee County. The Black Market Trust is from Los Angeles and mixes American singing styles with Romani Jazz guitar by Django Reinhardt. Their tour will also be stopping in Arizona.
