  1. There are six key counties in Georgia which could end up deciding the results of the senate runoff election, and Cherokee County is among them. Democrats are hoping to win the counties of DeKalb, Fulton, and Clayton if Senator Raphael Warnock wants to clinch the deal. Meanwhile, Republicans are courting Cherokee, Forsyth, and Hall counties for the votes they need. GOP leaders are optimistic that given the counties' history of voting Republican, they will vote in favor of Herschel Walker. (Subscription: The Gazette)
  2. With tons of fun rides, cool games, and family-friendly events, Six Flags is always worth the drive — but this season, it's about more than fun. On Dec. 10, Six Flags Over Georgia will be holding its Holiday Giveback Day. Visitors are asked to bring nonperishable canned food to the park, which will be donated to Sweetwater Mission, which helps fight homelessness and poverty throughout Cobb County. In exchange for the donation, visitors to the park will get a free Root Deer Fizz! The limited edition holiday treat is made of Barq’s Root Beer, cookie butter syrup, and whipped cream — it's then topped with a candy cane and cherry, and served in a souvenir cup. 3. The Canton Theatre will be hosting a Christmas classic this December. Directed by Wally and Jeannie Hinds, the beloved story of "A Christmas Carol" will be performed from Dec. 9 through Dec. 18.
