Cherokee School Schedules Set After GA's Winter Storm

CANTON, GA — Schools in Cherokee County will regularly open Wednesday, a day after a southern winter storm brought freezing temperatures and snow to Georgia.

Students are asked to warmly dress due to low temperatures, Cherokee school officials said.

"Our team will continue to monitor the weather throughout the evening. Should there be any overnight developments that impact normal school operations, we will notify parents by 5 a.m. via email, text, our website and social media sites," school officials said in a news release.
