- The Canton Police Department has released a photo of suspects accused of shoplifting felony amounts of items. The items were stolen from the Walmart on Riverstone Parkway. - Flu activity in Georgia is unusually high this year. During a state Department of Public Health board meeting on Tuesday, state epidemiologist Dr. Cherie Drenzek warned the public to be vigilant against the flu. Cases are expected to get significantly worse throughout the year, which could lead to understaffed and overflowing hospitals. - It looks like Cherokee County's penny sales tax will get a six-year extension. The majority of voters approved the extension when they went to the ballots, according to preliminary results — meaning Cherokee County will likely hold onto its 6 percent sales tax.
