  1. Dream Church will be holding a fun-filled ThanksGoodness Fest that the whole community is invited to. The event will be held on Nov. 20, and begins at 10:30 a.m. The event promises to be a day of fun, food, games, giveaways, and much more. (AllEvents)
  2. The Cherokee County Tax Commissioner's Office in Canton was closed on Friday after power lines went down outside the front of the building. The building was left without power as crews worked to fix the issue. Later that day, the county announced on Facebook that the office would be reopening the next morning.   3. Canton police are investigating after human remains were found near Reformation Parkway. On Nov. 17, police responded to a call near the Waleska Street underpass, where the remains were discovered. The remains have been turned over to the GBI Crime Lab for further examination.   4. Flu season is hitting some states hard and early this year — and Georgia is among them. Georgia has been labeled as having "very high rate" of flu-like illnesses. Over 650 people in the metro Atlanta area have already been hospitalized due to serious symptoms. All the states struggling with a dramatic rise in influenza-like illnesses are located in the Southeast. Officials are recommending that people get the flu vaccine if possible. (Axios)
