- The Cherokee County election department has announced the date Cherokee County voters can start submitting their absentee ballots. Ballots may be submitted starting Dec. 6. - A portion of the road in nearby Woodstock will be closing for some time, so get ready to plan alternate routes. Hames Road just south of Highway 92 will be closed for approximately four months. Crews will be working on road reconstruction in the area. Officials are encouraging drivers to adjust their routes accordingly and prepare for potential traffic. - A college student from nearby Dunwoody has been arrested in Florida for the murder of his grandfather. On Wednesday morning, a neighbor called the police after someone arrived at their front door claiming a family member had attacked them. Luke Ingram, 19, was found at the scene with the body of another family member, who has been identified as Ingram's grandfather. The other family member survived the attack. (WSBTV)
