  1. Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services are joining the 'Keep the Wreath Green' campaign until January. The wreath has green bulbs, but one green will be exchanged for red every time a structure fire occurs in the county during that time. The aim is to remember fire prevention during the holidays.   2. A nearby Bartow County native finally finished decorating a Christmas tree, which took 20 years to complete. Denver Peardon of Rydal created a commemorative tree honoring military veterans. The tree began at 16 inches tall and has since grown to eight feet with 184 photos of veterans – Peardon has met and spent time with them all. (Fox News)
  3. A Cherokee County high school student won first place at Georgia HOSA Future Health Professionals fall leadership conference, a statewide career skills competition. Avery DiGirolamo, a senior at Etowah High School, placed first in the mental health education in action competitive event, a new competitive event this year. (Cherokee County School District)
  4. According to the Cherokee County District Attorney's office, a Canton man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he was convicted of several charges.
