Fire Department To Host Thermal Imaging Camera Demonstration

A Thermal Imaging Camera is used by firefighters to search for sources of fire and victims that may be trapped inside a burning structure.

From Ball Ground VFD: On Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 6:00 PM The Ball Ground Volunteer Fire Department will host a Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC) demonstration at the Ball Ground City Gym located at 95 Church Street.

A thermographic camera (also called an infrared camera or thermal imaging camera) is a device that forms an image using infrared radiation, similar to a common camera that forms an image using visible light. This device is used by firefighters to search for source of the fire and victims that may be trapped inside a burning structure.

Firefighters will be on hand to discuss with individual or families the importance of having a fire safety escape plan and designated site to meet in case of a fire.
